Just the other day I went with my shih tzus to the veterinary doctor for a parvo injection. George weighs in at 19 and a half pounds and Eve and sixteen and half lbs. What perplexes me is that they get so energized going to meet their vet, they love each one fawning all over them. Chloe went in first.

Eve ran back out when the veterinary doctor had finished testing her Then it all went terribly wrong Eve started to throw up all the ingredients in her tummy. Our shih tzu laid down and wouldn't move. We were obviously worried at this stage and all we could do was wait and expect the best. Eve was in a horrible condition and didnt know what to do, it was like looking at an elephant being shot and losing control of its legs slowly but surely.

When the veteran saw what was around he rushed to his cabinet to get some steroids for our shitzu. We held back with baited breath over the period of the next 10 minutes to observe what outcome this steroid would have on her. She started to breathe strangely which bothered us a lot. We hurried her to a specialty infirmary where she was admitted in grave state There was only so much John could do so we took her to a special hospital for pets. That afternoon and night was touch and go.

The hospital put her on a drip that night. No one believed our shih tzu dog would be with us much longer. She spent most of the week in this hospital, being given fluids, plasma, antibiotics, and a lot of TLC.This response to the injection caused her to go into shock, along with puffiness and bleeding in her stomach and intestines. The good news is that she is making great footsteps forward in her recuperation.

Whilst recuperating she seems to spend a lot of time sipping water and dozing off whilst she recovers every day. Her road to recover has been a tough one but she will be in normal state within a couple of weeks, of that I am 100 per cent positive. It has been a steep learning curve these last few months.

Certain kinds of drugs make this shih tsu breed more likely to react and thats what took place with Eve.I am on a bit of movement now to make sure people manage to obtain "full disclosure".This was a nightmare and very expensive.I really consider strongly though that people should never have to observe what happenned to us.
